Hello Expats of Madagascar.

My name is Kenneth Coman. I am a Civil & Environmental Engineer, based in Germany.  I run an Engineering Office out of Germany.

I am also the President of Non-Profit Foundation, the Jacquelyn Jestine Sanders Foundation, based out of the United States.

I am currently investing much energy in building up a Research Fellowship Program with several Universities in Madagascar. We are beginning research themes at this time which will pay the education expenses of 10 Graduate students in 2024 - and we will have by the end of the year significant planning work done for revitalizing the Water Management facilities at one of the major Universities.  This program promises to bring me to Madagascar many times over the coming year(s).

I will most certainly appreciate to connect with this group in order to learn how to fit in and avoid pitfalls as I visit more often.  If any of you are residing in the vicinity of Antananarivo - perhaps we will get a chance soon to meet and share our war stories.

This step is not just about fulfilling my professional dreams but also about securing an investor visa to call Madagascar my new home.

Having already taken the initial steps - like renting a house through my girlfriend, who's currently living there, and obtaining a tourist visa valid from April 10 to June 09, 2024 - I'm now navigating the complexities of establishing a business abroad. The myriad of information online has been overwhelming and at times contradictory, especially regarding the legal and logistical steps involved.

Here's where I could use your collective wisdom and experiences:

Business Setup: Any leads or contacts for reliable local advisors or agencies that can help with the legalities of starting an e-commerce business in Madagascar?

Investor Visa Application: Insights on applying for an investor visa, particularly if it's possible to apply from a nearby country with a Malagasy embassy to avoid a trip back to Romania.

Local Logistics: Recommendations for buying a car, including necessary documentation and trusted dealers.

Networking: I'd love to connect with fellow expats and locals in the digital marketing and e-commerce sectors.

Also, I'm curious if the one-way flight might pose any issues upon arrival, given my visa status and plans to establish a business swiftly to extend my stay.

How was your visa issue actually, are you already staying at Diego Suarèz  actually, did you made some local ingénieur on your field ?
