Life in Accra

Lots of compounds in Accra. Most expats prefer to live in Cantonments, Labone, East Legon. You can Google houses to rent in those areas.

Ghana International School has a British curriculum and Lincoln has American. They are the two most expensive schools. There are other schools but depends on the age of your children.

There are good medical facilities around and there is WARA for emergencies.

Malaria is still a problem but using precautions  you can keep safe. I've lived in Accra for over 14 years and have not had it to date.

There is a group on FB Ghana International Expats where you will get a lot more advice.

Do you know if Ghana International is a good school? 

Have you enjoyed living in Accra?  We have moved around alot over the last 12 years and believe that a place is what you make of it.  But always appreciate hearing the less pleasant truths about a place.

I have no personal knowledge of GIS but maybe you'll find someone who sends a child there.

I have lived here for over 14 years and enjoy living in Ghana. It is very safe and Ghanaians are generally welcoming. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.
