Fresh out of mandatory schooling and a junior in the world of work, I was lost on where to go next. After spending a few hours looking online, I stumbled across the Evolution job portal. I had no clue what I wanted to do. All I knew was, I was looking for a fresh start. EVO offered me an opportunity working in the igaming industry. I had never considered this before and thought, why not? I took up an opportunity as a game presenter and moved to… Malta! And I can now say: it's changed my life.
Evolution kick-started my career! I had no idea I would ever end up in the i-gaming industry, let alone on a sunny Mediterranean island. I was living a dream. I'll be real with you, my first month was tough, I knew nobody. I'm still so thankful for Francesca who helped me through my relocation and the ‘employee experience' team were super helpful, they took care of my flights, and all my residency permits.
A challenging start led to a rewarding career
Today I proudly represent Evolution as a Team Manager. My day-to-day duties range from managing our game presenter rosters as well as ensuring smooth sailing table changes. My journey started at the EVO Academy where I got to learn all the blackjack and roulette game techniques. The academy team was great, they continuously focused on making sure my dealing hand was accurate and I got all the lingo!
You can never be 100 percent ready!
Whether you're a card enthusiast or just a self-born entertainer, you will always feel at home at Evolution. When I started, I had no clue that part of my role was to interact with online players, but thanks to the guys at the Academy this was made easy. Now I can understand why we are known as one of the best high-quality online gaming experiences providers in the world. My advice would be to ensure you have a strong work ethic and are willing to work that odd night shift.
What's next for me?
Well, I'm looking at advancing my career within the company. I'm thinking maybe HR or possibly something operations-related. The only thing that I'm sure of is that it'll be Malta. I love it here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else: the sunny days, summer beaches, winter hiking, diving, amazing brunch locations, and superb arts and culture scene.
