Frankfurt is an important international centre. It is a city of culture, knowledge, fun and lots of responsibilities. Frankfurt is described as being a city of many contrasts, which can be seen in the different neighbourhoods, and the lifestyle of different individuals. Daily tasks can make life dull without some leisure time that helps to revive the spirit. This works for students as well as for bankers and while fun is a matter of taste, one thing is for sure, Frankfurt has a lot to offer for everyone.

Frankfurt is a great city with plenty of places to visit, whether it is during the week or for a weekend. It is multinational, fast-paced and full of expats and Germans who believe in the opportunities it offers. The city has a very strong business vibe, but also areas that provide pure enjoyment. Every expat has a personal story which shapes their preferences of going out, but Frankfurt has it all: it is a family city, a cool place to meet new people and offers romantic vibes for the love birds. The only thing up to the newcomers is to discover.

Sport and physical activity are essential in peoples' everyday lives. A city like Frankfurt that follows the corporate world needs moments of relaxation. Luckily, this is the case, and the city has numerous options for sports and recreational activities. These can vary from going to the gym to doing martial arts and marathon races. Frankfurt has (and contributes to) a large number of venues for practising and watching sports. The options are limitless and for every taste, from amateurs who like to cool off of work, to professionals who make sports their life passion.

Frankfurt cuisine is specific and different from that other parts of Germany as it belongs to the centuries-old recipes of the region Hesse. The food in this area is a mix between the North and the South of the country and has these two German influences mixed with Turkish immigration. The typical German food in Frankfurt generally relies on sausages, sauerkraut and cheese. The city is very lively and has many places for every budget to try some of the local specialities.

Frankfurt, or officially Frankfurt am Main, is the largest city in the state of Hesse, and the fifth-largest in Germany. It has worldwide fame for being a central location and connected to many important destination points in Europe and beyond, which is why it had earned its nickname Gateway to Europe. Frankfurt is spread along the River Main and is one of the main metropolitan areas in Germany. The city is a significant economic, cultural and entertaining hub, full of great buildings and fantastic urban sightings. Therefore, it is also known by its second nickname Mainhattan. The city is international, easy to go around and offers plenty of options for fun for the newcomers.
