Brits who have moved to Australia - is it all roses?

Hi all - I'm an Aussie currently living in the UK where I've been for several years. I'd be curious to hear from any aussies who have made the move about how they feel about it overall. The media seem to paint a romanticised image of that move, but I'd like to know what things you miss about the UK, have found hard about Australia and if you're glad you did it. I do miss Aus (especially at the moment) but I also know there are pros and cons to both sides of the pond! Thanks!

I miss the dreary miserable weather and the dreary miserable people.

Seriously, I cannot see any advantage to living in the UK. Australian life is so much more pleasant. I've not regretted my move ever.

Better lifestyle, better healthcare, better education. The government is still a bunch of numpties, but that's everywhere.

Ha I much prefer the weather here in the UK but thanks

Whenever I visit the UK I really miss the outdoor culture. They don't even have covered areas outside for when it rains.

Strange, they do where I am but you sound like there might be an unresolved axe to grind here so will let it be, thanks.

im in Paris and I miss oz so much I think I will never found better way/place  to live

Sorry to hear that! How long have you lived in Paris?

Australia is now unofficially a socialist dictatorship. I'm considering retiring to the US, the last truly free place on earth.
