Home Education Or Downs Syndrome

Hi     My family and I are seriously considering a move to southern France in the next six months.  We home educate our 14 year old daughter who has downs syndrome.  I would love to hear from anyone who home educates and/or anyone who has a child with downs syndrome.     Many thanks

Hi,

Welcome on our forum. Hope you'll enjoy it.

For a particular situation, it is always better to contact official organizations. Here are some French one

Thank you very much.  Best wishes   Elvina

I am no longer living in France but I am British. We recently told our kids school that we will not continue but will do home schooling. We plan to mostly teach them ourselves although there is always the option to have local teachers come in to help if required. Our kids are still in primary level so we don't really need online teachers. Our reason for doing this is to help our kids develop in the things that they like will also being able to guide them in things like languages and business and computers etc. They will still follow the Cambridge curriculum which is what they have being doing for the past few years. Neither have Down's Syndrome, so I would agree with phiphiemar in contacting the relevant organizations for advice and also see what assistance the french authorities are willing to give.
