Hello. I have been made the offer of a job in Berlin. The offer is 70000 Euro. I am married and my wife will stay in UK until I have undergone 6 months probation with my new employer. So, I would like to know:

1. What is the prescribed German tax class for my status?
2. What is my nett monthly salary?

I see a lot of tax calculation sites but cannot get the final figure without point 1.

If you are living and working in Germany then you have to pay tax there. That the position is probational shouldn't affect your tax status as far as I know. You are still married whether your wife is there during the intitial 6 months or not. What I assume will affect you is to maintain 2 households during this time. I am posting a link to a similar thread where I set a link to a tax calculator. Simply put in the information you have and you get an approximation. I don't understand what should be the difficult in doing this?
