Private tour or in a group?
Private Tour - I know some guides
Group tour - check with China Culture Centre re their next tour
Thanks Manlin.
I was thinking a private tour but now you have mentioned it I will look into a group tour.
Thanks very much.
If you are into some hiking, i would recommend visiting Jinshanlin and Gubeikou instead of the normal Badaling or Mutianyu. I have visited these places and have spent a night camping at one if the watch towers at Gubeikou. Absolutely amazing experience. You can see my writeup and pictures at http://mynikonni.blogspot.com. Badaling and Mutianyu are too crowded and commercialised while Jingshanlin and Gubeikou gives you a more natural and authenthic feel of the Wall
Hi rodney, do you know where I can get that tour for Jianshanlin and Gubeikou? I love hiking and nature trips so I guess that would be suitable for me. Anyway, Your pictures really are something.
Hei. Thanks. Try www.greatwalladventure.com. I guessed it is too cold now. Spring would be a good time. I am planning another hike in april or may where part of the wall has been submerged in a lake.
And if you want something very different then SinoScuba dive the submerged wall.

Which is better? I assume private, but you never know. Chinese group tours are worse than root canal. I'm also assuming you've seen the wall.
Yes I've seen the wall more times than I like to recall. Every time an old friend decides to visit China for the first time he/she suddenly remembers that I now live in Beijing and that therefore I must be dieing to see the wall with them..
I feel the same way about Victoria Peak.
But it's really hard to ride a skateboard up that.
Hahahaha. That is exactly what is happening to me too. But I would like to visit more different sections of the wall, especially the wild ones ...
