Need a suggestion for muscat living

Dear all,

I am a telecom engineer and have a opportunity to work in muscat for a 6 month project(May be extendable). They are offering 750 O.R. and 200 O.R. for the accommodation.Transportation cost+Medical insurance will bear by the company.
Can u please suggest me the cost of living in muscat as well as how much i can save from this???

You almost spend half of your salary monthly. It depends on your family size and other expenses like car expenses

200 Rials are not enough to rent a house in Muscat ( the capital)
real estate is very costly here

There are a number of threads (posts) out-lining the cost of living in Muscat, have a little look and im sure you will find the answers you're looking for.

From my current research, you could find a shared accommodation in Seeb area of Muscat for around the 200RO mark, and I know that some people even advertise for actual room shares.
