Hello again,
Did you take post at HMG?
If so, have you visited or possibly started working there?
How is it going?
Hope you are well...I lost your e-mail address..

I have the same inquiry?

I will not prefer working for a private hospital because they work 6 days a week

What do you mean? What are the details in their statement? Sounds disturbing

What sounds disturbing?

MancDoc

The alleged comment that a physician would be given an offer of employment (so having to uproot his life and family and move to a very different foreign country) and then told by the potential employer that the offer could be rescinded if the employer found another physician that would work for less.

Themoe,
Sorry, you have lost me there. Perhaps you are referring to a comment that has been edited or deleted.

Hi there, guys!

IŽm considering moving Ryad. IŽve a general information, although noone has told me what the acommodation Souleyman Group pays. If IŽm being there for a while I want to be comfy, a 5* is OK.....

WhatŽs the best compound there?

WhatŽs the pricing for household? Schools?

Tks

Sorry but I never took the position , so I do not know

tks anyhow

Home near the hospital beloved, what information you would like to know, I can help you

Thanks a lot. One of the reasons to consider moving there is keeping a reasonable lifestyle. I haven't been able to have data regarding what the quality of accommodation provided by Souliman group, and what the best compound on the city. I'm looking for something similar to a 5 stars-GL hotel, might accept a 5*.

Second: household. I assume I cannot bring mine. A couple is enough, but I donno what the reliability and salary as an average.

Schools: my son is on a British school. I imagine there are there. What's the "top ten" and pricing.

Cars: I though mine would be ok (A-8), but transportation and the environment might turn more efficient a lease. Does it exist there? I don't want a Rolls or a Bentley. Just an Audi A-8 or a BMW 7's specially for safety issues. My idea is the man to be driver and the wife to coordinate the household under my wife's command....

Hi MancDoc
I also hail from Manchester area. I will join Habib Sulaiman next week as consultant Ophthalmologist.
Since you are on the scene, I hope you can provide some info about the accommodation they provide. I have found the management very evasive about this. All I can get out of them is "appropriate to your employment status"
If you like I can e-mail you directly. My e mail is mskazmi@hotmail.com

Dear all
Can anyone help me.I have been offered a position as consultant neonatologist at HMG.
Regarding accommodation they are saying that they don't have any villas for doctors and will be providing 3 bedroom furnished apartment in Riyadh.
Surely this is not a great option so can anyone help me weather they are only giving apartments or you can push for villa.
Also any idea how good their apartments are?
Regards

I have just been exchanging emails with a friend and fellow physician. I am in the US and he has been at HMG for 1+ months. He said that there are no Western- style compounds associated with HMG and that, when his wife arrives from the UK, she will not be pleased with their HMG accommodations. Other physicians who are currently at HMG can give you their perspective about that and the more important topic of other housing in Riyadh provided by HMG. Best of luck and try to get as much accurate information as possible while you can.

I have the same question, please let me know when you receive answers

Thanks for your reply.
Does your fellow friend has been given apartment too?
Is there any point pushing for villa or all they have at this age is just apartments.
Would really appreciate if anyone can give me some information about working hours and also accomodation?

My understanding is that it is HMG housing (compound, but not " Western quality").

Nephrodoc, did you join HMG as a  nephrologist. I have few questions, if you'll be kind enough to answer.

No, I decided not to.

Nephrodoc, I've being offered a Nephrology Position in one of the HMG hsp and I'm wondering if you'll be able to help me with some questions, as you have already been through it. Can you email me on reavac@gmail.com. Are you still in US?
thanks

Hi everybody,
I am foreign consultant working in Dr Sulaiman All Habib Hospital.
I have been begging Sulaiman Al. Habib Management for months to move me with my family to the compound. The only thing they do is promising, nothing more. They lied many times to me saying they are very close to contract the compound for the doctors. As far as I know now they don't have any accomodation proper for western consultants. The housing allowance they propose is not enough to rent anything in Riyadh. If you see what conditions people leave and work here as the consultants you won't talk about 5 bed room villas and swimming pools. Everybody who wants to start work here with Sulaiman Al. Habib must be aware about accomodation they offer. There are some new doctors, consultants living in flats decorated in arabic style with no access to the shops, walking areas and swimming pools. Modern slavery.
BE VERY CAREFULL IF YOU WANT TO WORK IN DR SULAIMAN AL HABIB HOSPITAL

hi everybody.i have a contract with HMG and i will be there in some days(waiting for visa)i have 3 kids.can somebody please give me some informations about housing for consultants ?can you advise me which is the best thing about acomodation for my family to do?thanks a lot

hello dear friends
how is HMG. i got offer for specialist orthopedic in riyadh. how is the accomodation, and work environment in HMG

Buddy, you dropped in nice piece of shit.
Specialists here live in closed apartments, no way out, no playground for the children wife will not be able to go out.
What you have to do is to get housing allowance and fing the apartment by yourself. Sulaiman Al. Habib doesn't have their own property in acceptable standard.BTW it will be difficult to find sth in Riyadh for housing allowence money.
If I be you I wouldn't choose Sulaiman Al. Habib for work. For specialists here, there is no way for futher education.

I have recently receieved an offer to join as specialist at Suliman Al Habib hospital Buriydah. can any one tell me about  the housing facilities there and how is the city.

Hi there,
I am a Consultant in Internal Medicine, currently working in UK, and I have been offered a consultant post with
Dr Sulaiman al Habib Medical Group in Riyadh.
Have you joined the HMG already? What are the accommodation arrangements for Consultants these days? Are the stories about substandard accommodation true?
Thanks a lot.
Aris

Just make sure you got confirmation in details on what is offered.

Hello Everyone,

I hope I can give you also first-hand info since I lived and worked in Riyadh for 13 years, just recently moved to Doha, Qatar.
The accommodation provided by the hospital varies big time depending on what position you are hired for. In Habib Hospital, if you are a Western Nurse, you will be given apartment in the city center which will be shared with another 1-2 nurses. If you are Head Nurse and above, you will live on your own. Apartments are modern and nice and the block of flats have usually also a gym but no pool. As a doctor you will be given a villa in a small compound or in the city. If you want to choose your own housing, you can request Housing Allowance which by the Law it should be your 3 month salaries but private hospital do not seem to follow the laws so much and the allowance is around 40,000 sar a year which will definitely not cover any decent compound villa, the cost is around 120,000 sar for 4 bedrrom villa in a Western compound.

I need to say here also that nursing accommodation varies greatly also if you are a Western Nurses or for example from Asia. Asian nurses share sometimes apartment with other 6 nurses, even the bedrooms are shared, the accommodation for Asian nurses is significantly of a lower standard.

Government hospitals, on the other had, have usually better accommodation for both nurses and doctors. Remember also, that if you are a nurse, you will be placed in strictly female accommodation. Male visitors are not allowed. But it does not mean that as a single person you can't go out or do anything. There are lots of social events in Western compounds and Embassies, parties, concerts, balls, celebrations, the social life can be very busy and the expat do make the effort to get together - simply because we are all in that little bit (very!) strange country and a different one that Saudi Arabia is.

And regarding the visa processing - it is always lengthy and it is not the hospital's fault as it simply takes ages when the visa arrives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you have to be patient. But things will fall through eventually. It is always better NOT to resign from your current job until you have the visa in hands. I always advice this to my candidates.
