Moving to Kuwait

I have received a job offer from a Petrochemical company and I am considering relocating to Kuwait from The Netherlands.

The company is located in the Al Ahmadi area. Can anyone give me some advice about nice areas to live ? Is it better to rent a flat or a house ? Are any international schools in the area ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello first of all welcome to Kuwait.
I think you better to live in Mangef area it is next to Al Ahmadi and it is a wonderful area. About to rent flat or an house it depends if you have family or you are coming alone if your wife and 3 children you can get flat. about schools there are english school in Mangef calls Cambridge and Fahaheel English school where it is next to mangef.

Hi Mishari, many thanks for the tips.

Would you recommend any real estate agent to engage in the house hunting ? I am coming over to Kuwait in November and I would like to organize in advance some viewings .....

Best regards, Juan

Guys, thanks for the guidance on the schools and real estate agents .... I will check it all !

Cheers, Juan

You could get a rental house in Al Ahmadi itself for a decent price. They are cheaper considering its quite far from the down town.

But if you are looking for something in the middle, close enough to international schools and about 30 minute drive to Ahmadi. I guess that would be Mangaf.

I also wouldn't recommend to go with whs-kuwait.com because they will charge you sh*t load of money! you would end up paying twice what you would normally pay. so, its your call.
