Often as an expat in Mauritius, researching and finding different ways to stay inspired can be challenging so let's look at some tried and tested activities to keep you inspired and motivated on your journey here.

Pointe des Lascars, Hindu Spiritual Park, Riviere Du Rempart

Overlooking the 50 shades of azure Blue Ocean you get a real sense of calm and tranquillity. Meditate as you find yourself in the serene and beautiful surroundings of Pointe des Lascars, Hindu Spiritual Park in Riviere Du Rempart. You can't help but feel inspired. The genius behind the spiritual park was Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, a beloved guru to thousands of devotees. He had a very inspirational outlook on life and came to the island in 1981 with hopes of inspiring and strengthening the religion and its people. Thus, Pointe des Lascars was created.

It is a religious site and of course when visiting, one must adhere to religious protocol and respect. But it is open daily to everyone and is such a tranquil spot situated in such stunning surroundings. You can feel yourself relax as soon as you walk through the gates. It's a very inspiring place to be as you wander the flower-lined paths and take in the beautiful temples. There are plenty of places to stop, sit and reflect around the park, and with the sweeping ocean views it can be a great place to reassess and reflect on your daily life here.

Om Spa, Flic en Flac

Have you ever thought about yoga on the beach? What better way to embrace everything that is so magical about living on this island than the serenity of yoga in such inspiring surroundings. Due to the restrictions, they are currently holding yoga classes on Wednesday evenings at 5 pm and Saturday morning at 8:30 am in their gorgeous yoga studio overlooking palm trees in the Om Spa- what could be better for some serene inspiration!

Of course, when restrictions are lifted they will be back on the beach for yoga, which let me tell you, puts you in a place of such serenity that you can't help but leave feeling inspired and motivated for whatever lays ahead of you.

Art of Living Happiness Centre

With spaces in both Goodlands and Cupepipe, this is a place where you can just take some time away from the stresses and strains of everyday life and be inspired by learning something new! From yoga and meditation to Ayurveda and a 3-day course called The Happiness Program- where they equip you with the tools to create a peaceful and happier state of mind. So why not immerse yourself in something new and inspiring, you deserve it!

You can book courses online or pop in and decide what suits you best, timings have been altered during Covid restrictions but it's best to check them out online.

Eureka House and Waterfalls, Moka

Located in the village of Moka, this beautiful colonial mansion boasts a living museum that you can explore and be inspired by the fabulous architecture. Just behind the mansion is a short hike to the Eureka waterfalls which are just stunning, take in your surroundings in the lush tropical forest and why not try out some meditation on the banks of the waterfall. What better way to ignite some inspiration!
