Bank account to buy property

Is there anyway to open a bank account to transfer funds to purchase a future property, as most banks seem to need current utility bill which is impossible as I’m in the uk and wont have any bills until I purchase a property.

Bank account opening usually now requires the person to be here

But you could open a sterling card and deposit cash to that and it’s ideal for getting a top exchange rate

Or Revolut as they’re now a bank

Hello. The way I did it was to provide a solicitor in Cyprus with power of attorney to act on my behalf. She opened a bank account in her name once I had made an offer and I transferred the funds from the UK into that, using an international exchange company to get the best rates.

If going down the power of attorney route please make sure it is specific and not open ... and once completed make sure it is formally cancelled
