Doctors income in denmark

Hi I am a doctor and I want to move to denmark. I ve some questions and will be so grateful if you answer them.
First is it true that specialists earn less than general practitioners in denmark?
Second how much approximately a general practotioner or a specialist earn in a year before and after taxes?
Third , Is being a doctor in denmark a high paid job among other carriers or not ?
Forth ,  Do doctors in denmark  work for government or they have their own personal office?

Welcome to the Forum :)

I can't answer any of your questions in particular. But do you speak Danish?

No ,I am studying danish now and I know little about danish language.

Probably Nellie Berg will provide you with more information later, until then you can read some basic information here https://www.laeger.dk/english

Nice link finnbo :)

Again, I am sure Nellie (Our inhouse Expert) will come back to us, but I imagine you would need to be fluent in Danish to B2 or possibly C1 level?

Its good that you are learning now. I wish you all the best.

Thank you so much . :top::cheers:

The information in the mentioned site was really useful thank you so much .

Hi Hamid,

It will be a long way for you to get the final approval to work as a doctor:

Being a general practioner in Denmark is a speciality in itself. A GP has an agreement with the region. Partly a fixed income which depends on how many patients who are associated to the praxis, partly on how many calls the patients pay.

The income varies a lot. It depends on whether you're self employed or employed at a hospital (in a region). It also depends on your experience of course. You can expect to get from 40,000 kroner and up.

In general doctors have a good income, and Denmark is in lack of doctors. However, that doesn't mean that it will be easy for foreigners to get through the needle's eye. Your language skills will be a hurdle in itself. The normal language levels will not be enough for a doctor. And do notice that only 10 persons can have their language levels assessed at a time, and there are only two yearly assestments. It's therefore difficult to say how long the whole process will take.

As you'll perhaps know from my other posts, tax is an issue in itself. Do look them up to get a general impression.
