2 years on have you found some friends?

Sorry but another single elderly? old? woman here.
In my case with the mind of a teenager. (I'm still not sure who that person in the mirror is)

I've spent the last year researching Bali as a place to retire and it's a case of when not if.

I'm quite self sufficient and will be happy just to be warm. However I can't afford my ideal house - the beach in front for walks in the day and shops behind to browse in the evening.

Would my Indonesian “help” extend to walking around in the evening? I'm quite happy on my own but I've read that's not a good idea.
