Hi

I am an HR Professional with more than 8 Years of experience in HR. It's been 2 week I have shifted to Rotterdam, Netherlands with my husband as he is starting his business here. I am looking for some job in HR and Admin or in Operations profile but I dont have any work permit. Does anyone has any experience with getting a work permit and how does that work or can an employer sponsor a work visa?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Assuming you're in Holland legally and are registered with the Gemeente (so have a BSN number), then you can work.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I am on tourist visa and My husband has applied for a startup visa and will get the resident permit based on that. I will also get the same visa and residential status. So far I dont have any work permit but I am allowed to work for our own company on that startup visa.

Hi again.

You can't work on a tourist-visa and your husband's start-up visa should have been granted before he entered the country.  Anyway, ignoring that part, start-up visas still need you to register at the Gemeente within 5 days of arriving in the Netherlands.  When you register, you will be issued with a BSN number, once you have that you can work, register at a doctor, open a bank account and register a car.

Hope this helps.

Hi! My partner and I applied for a MVV as a requirement for the permanent residence permit, which was approved. In the letter the IND stands that I could join the workforce. I am an Early childhood teacher back In Colombia. I wonder what kind of documents besides the diplomas I would need to translate and apostille before traveling to The Netherlands and get a chance of working as a teacher.

I would appreciate your help.

Well first you must speak Dutch to teach and your diplomas aren't recognized in the Netherlands. So you probably has to go back to school, but we need a lot of teachers right now so there is a high chance to work here.
