Buying a car in Haiti

You have to go together with the original owner (at least: the person whose name appears on the car papers) to the OAVCT and DGI offices in Delmas. Its a messy process and you are very likely to get overcharged without getting receipts for all transactions.

I have been trying to change the title for over a year and now the prior owner died.  We went to court with a family member and the judge Informed us that it was too soon after the death so here we are waiting for an unknown time to try again.
