What to expect when moving to Oman

Hello everyone,

Is there anything you wish you had known before moving to Oman? For example, transportation, internet speeds, types of housing, aspects of the culture or social life.

In your opinion, what's the most important thing to know about Oman?

When would you recommend someone should begin planning their move to Oman?

What were the most helpful ways you found to get organised? For example, did you use a checklist, were there any particularly useful websites or apps?

What advice would you give to future expats preparing to move to Oman?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

The most important thing to know about oman that they will be bound like a slave for two years if they are in a private sectors. There are rules and regulations by the govt of oman but practicaly the employers are not following these rules. Theoretically you can challange them in the courts but practically it is complicated process and the employer has superior hand always.  Moreover there is no more growth and development options or very little for talented people . so must be careful before landing here to avoid frustration and depression.
