Before moving to Algeria, it is important to investigate the cost of living in the country.

1. How much does it cost to rent an apartment/house in Algeria?

On average $500 a month.

2.  How much do you pay for your public transport tickets (bus, subway, train, tram)?

On average $3.5 a day for bus, $4 a day for tram, $10 a day for subway and about $10 aday for the train. 

3. Staple food: what do people eat and how much do they pay for basic food like bread, rice or pasta?

Wheat and wheat products such as bread, couscous and pasta,..cheese , olive oil...etc form are part of the diet.
A lof of bread costs about $0.2 ,pasta about $1.2, 1kg rice about $1.2, 1kg of fresh beef about $12, 1kg of frozen beef about $5, 1kg chicken about $8, 1kg of turkey wings about $4, 1kg of turkey drumstick about $6, 1kg of white beans about $3, all vegetables about $10 par market vist,...

4. What is your monthly grocery budget?

About $300 to be safe.

5.  How much does it cost to see a physician/doctor/specialist in Algeria ?

It is free in government hospitals but in private facilities you need about $15 consultation fee and about $50 after check up.

6. What is your children's schooling monthly budget?

Education is free at all levels but clothing ,feeding, scholastic material can cost up to $100 a month

7. How much does it cost to fill up your car's fuel tank?

About $5

8. How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc.?

About $40 per month for all

9. How much do you pay for your Internet/phone subscription?

About $30 a month is enough for Internet and phone on Algerie telecom or mobilis networks

10. How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays?

About $20

11. How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
About $3

12. How much do you pay for a cinema ticket?
About $5

13. How much does a gym membership cost in Algeria?

About $30 for 7 days a week, $10 for 4 days a week

the cost of rent an apartement between 250-300 dollar  per month
to rent a car 40 dollar per  day
everything is cheap for  european and americain foreigner
normal employer get 400 dollar per month,
so for foreigner  1000 dollar it's so enough
