Starting off at square one.U.S. citizen, VA health, retired, looking to chill out in beach community. Lots of basic ? no answers. Help.

Keep in mind that the cost of living here is not considerably lower than in the mainland.

Look at the west coast: Cabo Rojo, Rincon or one of the small islands off the east coast: Culebra and Vieques.

We speak Spanish here but in San Juan and the places I mentioned you can get by with English.

I'd suggest you read as much as you can about living here on the island. The forum on this site is a great place to start. Almost all the info in older topics is still valid.

Consider Isla Verde, Condado, Rincon. All of these beach towns. Some bigger than others.
