Where to live

I am looking for a city that is safe, has great schools, not far from hospitals, shopping, entertainment; however, not too busy or too expensive to rent a home.  I currently live in the USA and looking to move my family to Costa Rica.  I am in the beginning stages of planning.  I find a lot of information on retirees, but no a lot for families with small children.

As you may know that you can't physically work except with a work visa which is very difficult to get or working online  until a Permanent resident, so it does have many more retired folk than young families. It is not inexpensive to raise a family here, since most expats choose private schooling over public education.

There is more choices of private schools in the Central Valley which seems to fit what you are looking for. Your child is required to be a legal resident to be enrolled in the public schools.

Info on residency is here

Rentals vary with location and amenities offered.

Come and check it out prior to making the move  as Costa Rica is not for everyone.
