You are a CEA/OR when:
-when flying to cairo, your suitcases are filled with cornpops or cornflakes, instead of gifts and clothes like everyone else
-u speak engli-arabic or arabi-nglish. a complex language that only u and other CEA/ORs can understand.
-u occasionally say the "wrong thing" that gets u into trouble
-you still get mixed up between the "male" and "female" of arabic words
-but you can swear fluently in both languages
-u say "i'ifill" or "close" the lights, instead of "itfee" or "shut."
-you have a house in both countries, you have a cell phone in both countries, a bank acct, a car, friends, family, a spouse in both countries... well maybe not quite the last one!
-u automatically convert everything to dollars
-u collect egyptian coins
-u get all teary, for both national anthems
-u can be homesick for both countries at the same time.
-u don't think McDs is that great
-u know the best waffle, pancake, donut places in Cairo
-u ONLY shop at Meriem's market in Maadi, or occasionally metro market
-u know the best time to shop is 9 am Friday morn, when everyone else is asleep
-u are grateful to Heinz ketchup for opening a factory in Egypt
-u believe in carrying ur own bags
-u believe that kids should sleep early
-u are on time
-when u first came to egypt, u attempted to ride the big buses or microbuses
-u find the taxi drivers fascinating, as if they were creatures with immense powers u can only dream of
-u occassionally feed the stray cats and dogs
-u admire and find the nile beautiful!!
