Dentistry in East Timor

Hello there.
I am wondering what is the situation with Dental services in Timor Leste.
Are there any private dentists in Town ?
Where do expats go to for dentistry?
I am a practicing dentist in Darwin and was keen on exploring options of setting up a satellite office in Timor.
Any advise or comments will be very much appreciated.
Thanking you,
Cujo

Hi Cujo,

In Dili, Timor-Leste, there are several private dentists. But, if you open up a clinic here, I am sure that the expats would like to go to your place.

Hello Virgoboy,
Thank you very much for your reply.
Would you know what the expatriate population in East Timor would be ?
Is dentistry in East Timor expensive ?
Thanking you,
Cujo.

Hello Cujo,

I really don't know what the expat population is in Dili at the moment. If I may guess, I would estimate roughly between 3,000 to 7,000, but it was just a wild guess. (In this case, I could be totally wrong. So, don't hold me accountable for the number, OK?) As for the consultation cost to see a dentist here, from what I experienced (and heard) the fees range between US$ 40 to US$ 70. I don't know whether you would consider it expensive or otherwise.

Cheers.
