Hi,

we are moving to Lisbon in July and still looking for an apartment to rent. As it is high season, it is very difficult to find a reasonable price. Any advice? Or any property agency for expats not tourists. Thank you for your advices in advance!

Hello,
Since you are looking for long term rent, I don't see how can you encounter problems trying to find an apartment, regardless of the high peak of season. For people who want to rent on long term basis, there are apartments always available and under offer. The only question is: what is your price range for renting and is the neighbourhood where you want to live of any importance?
If you want to find an apartment for a more reasonable price, you should avoid real estate agencies. Not only the prices are higher there, but they will also ask you for an endorse or guarantor.
Try checking out offers on websites such as olx.pt or custojusto.pt
There are some others available, such as casa.sapo.pt
lardocelar.pt
ocasiao.pt
Beware, because most of them are still posted through agencies-you can always see that from the advertising (for instance, pictures will be marked with the name of the agency). Also, be cautious with scammers-if something looks too good and the price is too cheap, or the owner wants money in advance, before he shows you the appt.- don't get tricked into it.

Good luck!
