How to find a job in Ohio

Hi,

Are you an expat living in Ohio? Let's share your experience!

What is the best way to find a job in Ohio?

The Internet? Please tell us which are the most useful / effective websites for job seekers in Ohio.

Recruitment agencies? Have you got their contact?

Newspapers? Which ones?

organizations?

Thanks in advance for your participation

The best internet source that I have found would have to be www.ohiomeansjobs.com  Unlike sites such as Monster.com Ohio Means Jobs has job listings for everything, not just stuff you need a 4 year degree or more for. Ohio Means Jobs has listings from $400k a year jobs down to pizza delivery drivers. Plus its broken down into areas so you can search your specific location.

Ohio has many staffing agencies such as Staffmark, Peoplelink, Spherion, Manpower, and Adecco. Staffing Agencies are pretty much the only way to get into a factory now. You start off making less than people who are hired directly into the company, but you can get hired in after a 90 day probationary period if management thinks you are qualified enough.

Local newspapers have job wanted ads in the classified sections, but over the last couple years alot of scams have popped up in them. If its a job that they want you to pay up front for chances are its not legitimate, and if it is its gonna be a waste of time and money and a huge run around. You want to avoid these.

As far as organizations go, each decent sized and above city has a Job And Family Services department that can help you fill out applications, find jobs, write your resume, teach interview skills, and set up interviews.
