Hi all

I rented a room for some months and moved away a week ago. I agreed with the landlord when I moved in that I would pay a deposit that I would get back when I left the flat. Now he suddenly says I cant get it back, because they have not been able to find a new tenant to rent the room. That sure isnt my fault, but how do i get the money back - is there somekind of public institution there can help me ?

Try going to the cops?  Ask at the Ajuntament?  They would know who you should go to.  The system heavily favours the landlords here though.  Good luck.

Alot of the time what they do is that you stay your last month or 2 months for free in exchange for your deposit.
