I heard about PERMIKA Montreal, it's the Indonesian Students' Association in Montreal (check in internet for their website).

There was last month in radio-canada a documentary about indonesian culinary. Check Radio-canada website to see it :

It talks about Ivan Wiharto, the chef of Nonya restaurant. maybe it could be a start for you to find out about indonesian community there.

I am not Indonesian, Kaytabitha, but I know a bit about Montreal: I was born here and I am a university professor here. I was in Indonesia a few times (Medan, Jakarta and Denpasar) and have a working relationship with a university in Depok.

My barber is from Indonesia and has been here in Montreal for many years. I could introduce you to her if you want advice from a lady.

Feel free to contact me. I will remain in Montreal until mid December. I spend the following five months in Southeast Asia, returning to Montreal at the end of April

I have neglected my bahasa Indonesia, but when I get back to it I may need a little (paid) help in the form of language classes.

I m sorry for late answer...
I been back to Jakarta and put my soon is in school,
Coz i had difficulty to find school in st . jerome.
But  i will comeback to Canada next April ,
And start again my applicattion , i hope everything more easy because
I really need friends there.
And it will be very nice when i can meet your Indonesian friend there.
