Does Cuenca have ambulances?  My wife and I were in the city last July for a month, and we do not recall seeing any there.  We have been thinking hard about moving there, but health facilities are important to us.

Hello,

yes, there's ambulances in Cuenca and an emergency number like 911 in the US.
The hospital and public health care in the city is good and a lot of options in private insurance.

Thanks, Vinny,

We  were in Cuenca all last July and didn't notice an ambulance.  Maybe we were too busy looking at the scenery!  We did have an opportunity to see a medical doctor in town.  He was clearly an intelligent and competent doctor that also spoke English well.

When his receptionist handed me the bill, I studied it so hard that she asked if I had a complaint.  But I was simply amazed at how little they asked for a lengthy and thorough interview!

Has it warmed up in Cuenca?  Last July was really cold and wet.  We were told that it was unusual for the area, but usn't that true everywhere these days?

When we get back, I will look you up.

Thanks, Harmonie,

I will visit now and then.  We are thinking of moving to Cuenca, but we take our time deciding such things.  I am sure I will have some more questions.  In the mean time, I will simply follow other conversations on the forum.

You welcome,

I remembered July it was really cold even for us, just arrived from Massachusetts but it was unusual, June was really warm and nice.
The weather now is OK, last weeks was raining a lot but now is better.

Keep in touch and if you have more questions or need help, let me know.
