Another USA to Malta --->

Eric Cohen

Threads are older so popping for a refresh and specific situation:   Both myself and spouse American.  Company allows me to work from anywhere, Malta is top pick.  We prefer close to water for Jetski'ng, small sailboating.   Could someone recommend location(s), and professionals (lawyers/real estate?).  Our situation is slightly unique as we have adult dependents to bring with, completely handicapped and cared for by us.  Best in advance -Eric

@Eric Cohen  Both Malta and Gozo are small islands so no where is far from the sea. It's advisable to visit here before deciding to move. As you are TCN's it maybe a good idea to find out if you will be allowed to move here.

Regarding property it's a good idea to rent before deciding to purchase a property.

Why Malta?

Good climate, English speaking, relatively low cost of living.   The MPRP is the least expensive of the programs (I'm not one of those that could do Golden).

One thing to take into account is the unsuitability for handicapped and disabled people who rely on wheelchairs for mobility. Other than along a few stretches, usually near the seafront in towns, the pavements are totally unsuitable and are a minefield even for the fully active!

@F0xgl0ve Ah, good to know.  Ours are walker/cane but that still could be a challenge.

The infrastructure of Malta is not favorable for handicapped people.  Ireland for example has a better infrastructure than Malta and Mauritius has better weather conditions. My advice seeing is believing. Visit places first before you decide to move
