Spouse Visa - cohabitation/proof of address documents

vishal_aeie

Hi All,

This is regarding the spouse visa requirement.

I got married last year in Dec. My wife traveled to the UK in Feb 2022 on an ICT tier 2 visa and going to switch to a Spouse visa. We have been living together for the last 9 months.

I’m confused about the cohabitation/proof of address documents required for a spouse visa.

I do have sufficient proof of my current address like a bank statement, Driving License, electricity bill, etc but my wife has only a bank statement and water bill in her name from the last 9 months. Is this document sufficient or do we need more proof of address in her name?  Also, I read somewhere regarding cohabitation/proof of address documents to be submitted for the last 2 years, is it required for a married couple?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

@vishal_aeie I think if you’re married that’s already proof of relationship. The proof of address is to prove you have suitable accommodation for her to live with you but if she’s already living with you then her name on a bill at the same address should be sufficient proof.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Then I suspect you will not qualify for any UK visa, I'm sorry.

I hope this helps.
