Passport renewal by evansclive
Hi, Great to have somewhere to go and get some genuine help.Thank you for the warm welcome msg.Does anyone know anything about or used theMyBritishPassport' online agency to renew their British passport while in Cyprus .?They seem very ...
If you're applying for a British passport, all they need is proof of your UK citizenship, e.g. a birth certificate or expired passport; they don't care where you're currently resident or even whether you have dual nationality. Read More

Hi,Does anybody know which UK banks, if any, will not close the current account if you change from a UK tax resident to a Cyprus tax resident? Thanks in advance for any help.Kevin
@19kevin Technically not a bank, it's a building society, but I know that Nationwide will allow you to keep your current account - I specifically asked them, and they confirmed it. Read More
Moving to Cyprus by karenselsea
Can anyone tell me what would be the fist steps in planning a permanent move to Cyprus. Immigration application or securing accommodation? Can you start the immigration process from the UK?
@karenselsea I would say get your accommodation sorted first - because one of the main requirements for immigration is that you have a permanent address in Cyprus, either a purchased property or rented on a long-term lease of at least 12 months. But ... Read More

Can anyone tell me if I can keep my Revolut account that was opened in the UK if I move to Cyprus, I have seen some reports that say I can, and others say I would have to close the UK Rev account and then open a new one in Cyprus?Cheers
@Toon Yes, I was aware that HSBC allow this (although I understand that they might try to persuade you to switch to an "offshore" account - but the income and/or savings requirements for that are quite high!)Nationwide have also informed me that ... Read More

@stevebillo1 Yes, if/when you become tax resident in Cyprus then you should change your account; the European Revolut bank (registered in Lithuania) is a separate legal "entity" from the UK registered bank. Having said that, it is a fact that many ... Read More
Update--Paphos time!! We've started the process to move to Tala by londondoc
We spent some time in Paphos in February this year. In the main, it was fabulous - mesmeric, in fact. As I wrote earlier, unfortunately at the time, we got in to the clutches of an overzealous realtor and that blotted the copybook somewhat. But as ...
@telf Yep, that's a good rate, I'm currently being offered 1.1912 from Wise or 1.1889 from Revolut. Read More

@Gordon76 There is a difference between "habitual" residence (where you normally live) and tax residence, they're not necessarily the same! While you can visit the UK for up to 90 days without becoming resident for immigration purposes, the rules ... Read More
