Places to advertise freelance English lessons.

bucket.traveler

I'm just looking for a place in Brazil to advertise as an online English tutor.  I lived in Brazil 2008 to 2009 and I speak Portuguese, well, not so good anymore, and I wanted to try teaching English.  I wouldn't charge much, I just want to know what it is like to teach English.

Anyway, I can find lots of articles about teaching English online but I want to target Brazil specifically because I speak Portuguese and that is what I want my destination to be.

I'm just looking for a site, newspaper, magazine, news letter, or whatever to list myself as an English teach, first lesson free and such(don't want people to feel ripped off).  I lived in Sao Paulo, SP and internet there is fast enough for Skype.

There are so many online schools to compete. Many schools teach English as a second language.
There is A Gazeta online newspaper in various cities.
Good luck.

I wasn't going to charge as much, I was thinking $6/hr, which is cheap for one on one.  I mainly want to try it before I know if it is something I could do or not.

I also don't want to go to Brazil and get an English teaching job and find out I don't want to do it.  I thought this would be a good way to find out.

Oh, and hopefully improve my Portuguese a little, I haven't spoken it for years.

Yeah, it sounds like most freelance teachers use paypal.  I'm not even sure how that would work in Brazil, is there paypal?  From what I read most freelance teachers have students in rich Asian countries where paypal isn't a problem.  I know there are a few countries where either paypal doesn't exist or money can't be sent from their country to the US.

Yeah, I can't find any information on teaching online to Brazilians specifically.  Like I said, most online students are from Asia.

There is paypal in some areas, but many cannot afford. Sending and receiving money from BR the cost and regulations is limited and costs would be more than the lesson. $5/hr is +-$20 reals. Teachers here only make $500 to $900 reals/month. Larger Universities maybe more..
I believe you would need to have a  credit card to sign up, but still have the FT fees that te students need to deal with.
Not sure as BR internet regulations. Some sites I try are block n Brazil.
