pls dont panic.... its come in all d english papers that d law is amended...aint it....only thing is what changes and when it wil b implemented is yet to b published.....Bcz even i asked d public health centre in sharjah... they said yes its back to old law but will b implented soon.... my isa due nex month...pls pray....

I talked to a Preventive Medicine Official from Al Baraha Hospital and they said that they have read this in the news paper as you have read it. There is no instruction upril now to implement this law, but the news is correct. There is no confusion in that, again we have to be just wait a little more. InshaAllah things are much better now. May be a couple of weeks more.

Please everybody, BE PATIENT. I'd been following and waiting for this thing for long time and I AM WILLING TO WAIT A LITTLE MORE until full implementation of the law.

Remember when they change the law previously last 2008, the law was published April 2008 but full implementation is July.

Don't think negatively and feel discouraged. The situation is now in our side.

Hello Everyone,
Could you help me please??

Last year I worked in the hotel. And after the medical test I got deported because of HBV positive. I am only carrier as well. I wonder I can still back to the hotel restaurant to work. Someone said restaurants and hotel will not allow HBV. Anybody know Dubai will cancel HBV test in all catagories???

i do not think they will allow it for restaurant employees. it's one of the categories which are banned for HBV carriers even before July 2008.

i came here in dubai as a visit visa its my first time

Hi to all,
Please help me. I don't know what to do. I came here in dubai on visit and right now I am in employemnt visa (valid until July 2) but not stamp since I was diagnose to have hepa b. I took my medical exam in al baraha. I retest it in Iranian hospital and found out that I am healthy carrier.
My profession is sales in trading company. My employer wants me to stay in the company but we don't have P.R.O. to help us.

Hi Aya,

Normally medical people in Al Baraha are very nice person, some of the people from this forum who's doing the medical in Al Baraha can get fit to work statement but that is for renewal visa, so if you make new residence visa maybe you should speak to some officer there and xplained them your situation, if you following the forum the rules not apply yet for new residence visa for Hepa B, so it's only case to case basis some people will get their new residence visa depend on the company and PRO.

As per the UAE federal law, expatriates who seek to become residents of the country must be free of communicable diseases such as Aids, tuberculosis, hepatitis and small pox. Those tested positive for such diseases are deported to their home country.

what is this news my God what is going to happen i dont understand. i think may b the gulf news is not aware of aalbayan news or might b this is for the illegal residents people just to create fear amongst them coz till now the hep b rule is not officially amended it is still exist that means till now people must b free from such deseases this rule is not implemented yet and albayan did not mentioned this. can anybody go and ask this matter in any of the preventive medicine or moh, it wud b great help to come out of this confusion and just pray to god he will solve our problem

this news is not related to hep b rule actually it is all about the people who do not go for mandatory medical for long time and living in uae as i said still this rule exist it is not implemented i wish to hear good news soon inshallah oh god pls help us. bring some good news if any one of u getthe time to enquire about it pls go ahead.

Thank you for giving information.
Add to these, I was on visit visa for two years in different company (Oct 2005 - Oct 2007). My employer can't give me employment visa for different reason.I went back in my country and stayed there for two years also. I just came here again last Nov. 2009 in visit.
Should I say these info to the medical officer officer in Al Baraha? Which Dept should I go? Preventive Medicine Dept in Al Baraha?
I really need some advice now.

Illegal Residents & HBV.

One of the many reasons why UAE is canceling the HBV tests for new visa is to curb illegal laborers from entering the country and not applying for residence visa because of the HBV tests. Similarly and for the same reason there is another review under way for TB cases, where the ministry is considering offering treatment options to patients instead of deportation. The aim of all this is reduce/fight illegal residence. Which is a smart move.

Stay positive.

Unfortunately many negative posts were posted in this forum over the last few days. In any case, the news about canceling HBV tests in Al-Bayan newspaper only came out on June 13th, 2010. This article was an insider information and exclusive news that Al-Bayan managed to dig up. So, officially, everything is still the same and HBV tests are still mandatory. Having said that, the article specified that the HBV tests are going to be canceled within a week. Today, that week is over, therefore according to this time line we should hear something this week.

I can feel your distress. But your situation should be manageable. Here is what you should do. You mentioned that you re-tested in Iranian Hospital and found out that you are healthy carrier. This indicates to me that this is not the second confirmation test that you have to do as part of the residence visa medical checks, isn't it? if yes, then DO NOT GO FOR SECOND TEST.

Leave the country for now. Ask your employer to cancel your employment application at the labour ministry and at the residence department. Because you mentioned that you have your employer support, you can arrange with him to have you back on visit visa and because your employer is willing to keep you on visit visa, just stay on visit visa until the new law comes into effect.

Whatever you do, never take the second test. This will only result into deportation procedure and ban that you will struggle to lift.

This is my advice to you.

Dear Aya1976/ Perdanasiswa,

If the New rules still not implemented, then I believe there would be the same ways like you have to go for first test which shows you are positive and then second test and if they found you healthy HBV carrier then they refer your case to the medical committee which decided to fit or not fit.

Aye you may check out the medical center and then ask about it I hope you will get relive

Thanks for always replying. I really need someone to discuss everything about these.
This morning I went to Al Baraha and spoke to the official. I told him that my employer still want me to work in the company but we don't have PRO to help us and my employer doesn't know what to do. I show them the hep b profile and the certificate from the Iranian hospital which state that "Carrier of viral hepatitis B - Inactive state - not replicative virus. Doesn't need medicine now. Should check her lab test regularly every 6 months." and he look for the report that they give to my employer (which is written in arabic). My test result dated May 12. It's been a month and a week now. He said that my employer should confirm in immigration if I am ban already or not. I asked him if I can go to immigration for this. He replied me "No". He told me whether it is ban or not I have to give the report to him. He said that he will try do to something but I have to wait for one week. Please be noted that he did not ask me if this is renewal of visa of new visa.

And just now my employer called me and said that both of us will go to immigration and he want me to bring the passport and the medical report.

Now, I am confused. The official said that I should not go there and my employer said we will go together in immigration.

Question is: Can I go to immigration to confirm that I am ban or not? What is the procedure for these? Please help...

your case is very interesting. Analyzing the information that you have provided I can see a couple of things that are normally unusual but could be good signs.

1- You are confirmed case of HBS Ag since May 12. That is already relatively long time and I'm surprised that no action has been taken against you during this period. This might be an indication that things are being relaxed a little.

2- The official in Al-Baraha Hospital asked you to double check with him within a week. I believe he is trying to help. And I believe that this is an indication that the preventive medicine officials are expecting to receive new instructions from the Ministry of Health. It appears to me that this guy is really trying to help and trying to see if he can make use of the new rules to help you.

In any case, you might have some hope here.

If I were you, I would ask my employer to wait one week before heading to the immigration/residence department. I think one week should be reasonable time and he should be Ok with it. In the mean while keep in touch with this official in Al-Baraha and follow up with him closely. You never know, you might end up being the one giving us the good news we are all awaiting for regarding the new law.

That is not true. There is no such medical committee. If it existed, none of us would face this situation. All the members of this forum are healthy carriers with inactive viral load. That is the only reason they are participating in this forum because they believe that they impose no risk to any one and they are desperate to have any one to hear them.

Based on the current rules, only HBS Ag tests are carried out. No other tests are used to determine the overall condition of the carrier. Deportation is merely based on HBS Ag being negative or positive.

Please post what you are sure of. Many people depend on the information shared on this forum and they build hopes on it. No need to give them false hope and torture them even more.
