Moving from Al Barsha to Ajman – Looking for Advice

I made a similar move a while back, and my biggest advice is to get quotes from at least 3 companies before deciding. Also, ask if the price includes packing, dismantling and reassembly of furniture, and if there are any extra charges for stairs or long carrying distances.

Can't recommend a mover — you asked for personal experience rather than advertising, and I'd only be repeating names I've seen online. Hopefully others can help there.

What I can offer is what quietly costs people money on this particular move:

**Move-out NOC.** Most Dubai towers require an NOC from building management before a crew can use the service lift — often with service charges and DEWA settled, sometimes a deposit, usually restricted hours. Start it a couple of weeks out.

**Close DEWA properly, don't just move out.** The AED 2,000 apartment deposit is refundable only on proper closure — keep the receipt. An account left open keeps billing standing charges and the Housing Fee against a flat you've left.

**Ajman isn't DEWA.** It's Etihad Water and Electricity — fresh connection, its own deposit. Your Dubai deposit doesn't transfer.

**Check your Dubai lease notice.** A tenancy doesn't end because you've moved out, and cheques already handed over can still be presented. Give written notice and get written acknowledgement.

**On quotes:** itemised in writing, and ask specifically what's *excluded*. Usual gaps are AC and TV dismounting, curtains and light fittings, packing materials, storage if handover dates don't align, and lift or access charges at either end. If insurance is "included", ask what the cover limit actually is.

**One you didn't ask:** if either of you still works in Dubai, price the commute before committing. Two Salik gates each way at peak is roughly AED 6,650 a year in tolls alone, before fuel. You may have run this already — but it catches people.
