Got my ikamet insurance online in minutes (PDF) — here's how

Sharing my experience in case it helps others going through the residence permit process.

I needed health insurance for my ikamet application and wanted to avoid the usual hassle of visiting an office or dealing with agents. I used Yab Sigorta and got a fully compliant policy completely online — the whole thing took just a few minutes.

How it worked for me:

Entered my date of birth and details — the price showed instantly (it depends mainly on age and whether you pick 1 or 2 years).

Paid online securely.

Received the e-signed policy as a PDF by email right away.

Took that PDF to my appointment — accepted with no issues.

One thing I liked: they have a mobile app for both iPhone and Android, and the site/app is available in multiple languages (English, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Persian, and more), so it's easy whatever language you're comfortable with.

A few things I learned:

Make sure the policy is the residence-specific type (not travel/tourist insurance — those aren't accepted).

The start date should match your appointment/permit date.

A 2-year policy can lock in the price and saves renewing every year.

Honestly it was much easier and cheaper than I expected. Their site has the full process online plus a guide explaining requirements and prices by age: [link under review]/

Happy to answer questions if anyone's stuck on the insurance step.
