Finding an affordable gym in Beirut

Hello expats, Lebanese,

I am struggling to find a decent gym in Achrafiyeh that would not require getting a loan to pay the fees! I'm in Achrafiyeh and would like to be able to find something close-by as I have no car. I've been here almost a year and tried the running in the streets of Achrafiyeh thing but I have to give up... breathing car exhaust fumes or risking being run over by said cars is no fun. Where do you go? Not asking for spa luxury, just a good treadmill...and people truly there for a good workout.

Hi Marie-eve, there is a gym called Proteens. It's just off Av Charles Malek near St Nicolas church. Small but well equipped gym with reasonable prices especially relative to Beirut prices eg ard $110 per month. Has classes and weight and cardio gear. Good luck!

there was an article about gyms in Beirut that gave the price of one in Ashrafieh (Geitawi area specifically) as very reasonable - nothing fancy but apparently well-maintained:
