Hi,
I'm Mavi. I have a bar in the centre of Madrid and I would like to made a group of people for speaking English. I'm studying in  Escuela Oficial de Idiomas and I need to practise the language.
I have a lot of classmates who are interested in it too.

Hello everyone!

The second meeting of expats was a great evening out. A good way to get over the Wednesday mid-week hump by having a drink with many interesting new friends from all over the world.

This week (Wed March 9th) we will be meeting at Restaurante Jota again. Time 9:30.

Pass on the details to all your expat friends! Even if you can't make it, get the word out.


PS. The basic idea is to provide a way for expats to meet other expats, which is different than the language exchange evenings... not better, just different.

Next one...Wednesday March 16th in Chueca.

This week we will be meeting in Plaza de Olavide. It is a great circular "Square" with lots of bars and terraces. A perfect place to be on a spring evening. If it is warm enough we can sit outside.

Time: Starting at 9pm... but there is no penalty for being late.

Casa Puebla (bar / restaurant / terrace) in Plaza de Olavide (between Metro Iglesias and Bilbao)

Sorry for the silence. I just found out that we are moving to the Middle East at the end of May. So I won't be able to organize anymore Expat Night Out activities.

Anybody (or multiple people) could pick up the torch and continue with the idea.

Position requires a person who can:

How can I sign up to the expat meetup mailing list ?

I am a french living in Madrid for more than 3 years now. I can speak spanish and english (and french sure).

How much people more or less in these meetings ? Do you speak english or spanish or is there any 'best practice' there ?

A friend of mine is half spanish-half french, has lived in spanish all his live but talks well french. She wanted to exchange some lessons/conversations with portuguese talking people. I think there were some meetings for that too ?

Heya. I noticed that there haven't been any announcements for meetups in July. Is it on hiatus? I'm here until the end of the month and I want to catch at least one before flying out.

I always miss the meetings..ayyyyy :-(
