Need help/advices for salary offer

mansnothot

Hi,
I got a job offer in Barcelona. I am very interested. Unfortunately, I do not know much about the living cost in Barcelona...
The yearly salary proposal is 48K euros (based on 14 months): this is "brutto".
Anyone can help me to calculate is approx in nett (after taxes), also how does it work in Spain (is it like in France, do we have to pay the taxes ourselves at the end of the year...)?

I have been reading many posts saying that the rents are expensive as well..

Cheers

Tax paid will depend on your world wide income, if you own a house outside of Spain, savings (in or outside of Spain) Shares all count.
There will be national and regional tax to be paid. On salary alone I have found that you will be in the 37%
Health insurance (to the government) will also have to be paid. Rate depends on your employment status and age.
This is way out of date. But it will give you some idea. https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/w … dex_en.htm
There is no real "free market" when it comes to gas or electricity.
This will give you some idea of coasts. Spain has one of the highest rates of electric in the EU. https://www.endesaclientes.com/articles … rates.html

Properties may not have a gas supply laid on if so then you will find the gas used for cooking will be supplied in a "bottle" https://www.repsol.es/es/productos-y-se … dex.cshtml
hope that helps

Hi,

If single, nothing but your salary you will be around 34k per year in your pocket (taxes are taken on your salary) which is way enough to live nicely in Barcelona

Renting is expensive but still less than Paris, minimum for a decent one bedroom flat will be 800 in Barcelona
