What do you use to learn Polish?

Hi everyone,

I'm Andrea, a researcher living in Kraków, and I'm learning Polish to integrate here. I'd love to know what you use to study it: apps, flashcards, courses, notebooks? What actually works for you, and what did you give up on?

Here is my own story. I started with Duolingo, but it wasn't nearly enough: too basic, and it made too many mistakes. Now I'm taking an in-person course, and on top of that I study extra at home to memorise new vocabulary. Even so, I find that the cases and the amount of words are much harder than any app makes it look, and the conventional apps don't seem built for such a complex language.

That’s why I’m exploring whether a small, better tool for learners is worth building. Before anything else, I’d like to learn from you: which apps or methods do you recommend for memorising new words, and have you dropped any because they frustrated you? What was the problem?

You don't need to be advanced. If you've tried to learn Polish for a few weeks, or tried an app and dropped it, that's exactly what I'd like to hear.

Reply here or send me a private message. Thank you so much!
