Most Affordable Town to Live In.

carlycam

Hi everyone,

My names Carly, I'm 26 and about to move to Malta in August. I have family history from my grandad there and can't wait to immerse myself in the history and culture!
I've been doing some research and I've been finding it a little hard to truely find the best places to live that are cheap and affordable. I'd like somewhere where I can find work in hospitality ( I have a teaching background too so maybe afternoon nanny jobs) and I have my working holiday visa. I would like somewhere with cafe's, restaurants and bars to of course!

Is the north or south more affordable and do they offer a good amount of jobs?
What about Gozo? I've been told there isn't a lot of work there.
I was leaning more towards the north as its close to Gozo and St. Julien's.

Also what is the best way to find permanent accomodation? I will be in Malta travelling around for a week when I get there to find a spot I really like. When I do find a spot whats the best way? Is there a facebook group that advertises room rentals at all?

Thank you so much for your help!

Carly

Welcome to the Forum, please read all the previous topics on the subjects you have mentioned as  most of your questions have been covered many times by going onto search.
As regards Gozo there are not so many opportunities as Malta, there may not be many vacancies in hospitality as in August is nearing the end of the summer season.
