Looking for Work in Qwara / Buggiba area . Maid cleaning in hotels

Pollyanna##321

Anyone help me find a suitable job in a hotel in the above areas. I am staying in Malta with a member of my family at the moment . I have been coming over several times over the last 3 years . I would like to find a job and then find a suitable apartment. I know to go to the job centre which I have registered but they tell me I know have to go to Valletta if I want 40 hrs a week. But I will go back to Qwara centre again on Monday to see if they have much to offer jobs wise as I personally want this area as I find it lovely and fairly peacefully.
I also know to look on the Malta site for jobs.
Only arrived on Tuesay this week. Weather is unbelievably hot. So I am hoping to find work and an apartment in close area.
I do have a female friend who works in a hotel in my area I am looking for but she is a supervisor and says they have to clean 24 rooms some daily room service and some departures , which I say must be absolutely impossible . I used to clean caravans in England which we used to do only approx. 12 caravans a day and that was in our English standards. But she did say they don't do all the jobs they should do. So will try again at job centre and walk around Qwara again on Monday.
Thanks In advance for any information anyone would like to offer me. I am a lady in her early 50's .

Hi,

I'think it could be difficult to find a job that offers 40 hours per week in restaurants as they usually need their staff in the evenings or just for serving lunch. But you could consider  working several jobs.

The weather this year is actually on the cool side and not really unbelievably hot. That will still be coming ...probably soon ! It is more the high humidity that makes it even worse but there again ....this year is still ok.

Cheers

Hello there Ricky. Do u think there are plenty of jobs out and about in the hotels , plus cafes at the moment. ???????????????

ricky

Plenty of low paying jobs for sure! You have to compete with Bulgarians and Romanians on the salary scale.

Just walk the streets and look around.
