32% is the marginal not the average rate, 10% is capped

No, only this

There is a calculator I linked to - inputting a few bits of data gives you the answers - as I said, SSC are capped, so you will pay less than 10%, actual depends on circumstances

tax is either 8070 if single computation or 6246 if joint. As wife not working (and no other income) then will be 6246
