Hi, has anyone here taken their car across and if so, what documents are required, which website/ferry do I need to look at.

Its recommended (but not compulsory) to get a green card from your car insurance company.

Virtu ferries is the ferry company (http://www.virtuferries.com), you can book on line but its actually cheaper to book via a travel agent. You will need your car documents and passport or ID when booking.
You may be a bit shocked at the price ! but if its just for a few days there is a cheap (er) promotion on at the moment.
Nice ships, very clean but dogs travel in the vehicle (for free).
