Temporary return to UK

So, it is with great sadness that Lynn and I return to the UK, however, we will be back in July; for good.
Our 'due diligence' trip has been so worthwhile and we have achieved far more than we expected.
We were careful to follow the excellent advice from many on this forum and some in particular have 'gone the extra mile' in answering our questions and offering advice. You know who you are but we need to publicly acknowledge Toon, Georgeingozo, Mattm911, Scubaboy and Ricky.
We have finalised our contracts for what is now our apartment in Xaghra. I know that perhaps some of you will think that we have been too quick to do this but we are assured that for us it is so right. Lynn 'fell in love' with it and sometimes one has to go with one's instincts and feelings about the people that one meets. We are both united and totally committed in this move.
We have got to know several very charming and helpful people, our neighbours, the local car hire owner, Pauline, staff at the local shops and others we have met when out and about, particularly Audrey. They know we understand how things are done here and I know how to haggle and barter (I am also under no illusions that they want our business ) We feel we have been treated as equals and with such politeness. (Except in one establishment on the mainland where we walked out due to the ignorance of the staff who seemed obviously not to want our business.)
We now consider ourselves as 'out here' and though we face the tribulations of applying for residency etc. we look forward to that as it will mean so much to us.
Lynnder was born on Malta, I have lived and worked there and we have visited often. All our experiences have led us to being here now and in the future.
So, for now, we say Adieu għall-Għawdex, imma se nkunu lura.
