Hi Designs,

registering online with ETC has no legal implication except that you receive  information on jobs available in Malta.

In particular it does not allow you to stay in Malta for any period of time or enter Malta without a visa. Maltese and EU citizens have to register with ETC if they have work or are jobless and looking for work.

In the case of non EU citizens you will not be dealing with ETC directly as any future employer has to apply for a work permit for you.

Temporary Residence is only granted for economically self-sufficient non EU citizens on a temporary basis and requires health insurance coverage and does not mean that you get a work permit.

I'm still not sure what kind of visa you hold as you say you have to leave after 3 months!

Type C visas can be valid for 1 year and allow a stay of 90 days within every 6 month period. That would mean that you can't return to Malta for 3 months.

Type D visas allow you to stay longer than 90 days and are issued by Malta for Malta.

What kind of work are you looking for?

Cheers
Ricky

Hi Designs,

ok, now the visa position is clear.

I'll watch out for suitable jobs knowing your qualifications and experience.

You should send your cv to job agencies and watch out for jobs in the CLassifieds of the 'Sunday Times of Malta'. Maybe ETC will have a suitable job offer too !

I'm in Germany for the next 3 weeks. Maybe you would like to meet when I'm back in Malta?

I wish you all the best buying property in Malta.

Cheers
Ricky
