Malta is not a sensible country for huskies.

George...Tell that to the Maltese owners of huskies in Malta, they obviously don't know :/

Helz...I think there are a lot of previous posts re bringing your pet here, you should search for them.

I guess...also be prepared to have your a/c on all the time in summer? Cuz I doubt anyone can survive that heat wearing a fur coat!

Hi thanks for your comments I have joined a group The husky lounge Malta seems like there are quite a lot of residents there with the same breed they meet up with there dogs and go to the beach (in the cooler months of course) would just have to get the best advice and accomodation to keep her comfortable would never leave her behind :)

Just so you know, its now illegal to take a dog to any beach which has a designated swimming zone (which is just about all of them), incl in the winter - fines were issued last year. Its also illegal to take a dog on the bus unless its in a pet carrier on your lap (so basically Huskies can't be taken on buses). Dogs are also banned from many public parks - as you will have gathered, Malta is not particularly dog friendly.

Plus many Maltese children are brought up to fear dogs - if you meet young kids who want to stroke your husky, chances are they were educated overseas.

If you are thinking of renting property rather than buying, having a dog will make it much, much harder to find somewhere - atleast 90% of apartments will be off limits.

Just want to warn you of some of the pitfalls in bringing your dog to Malta - its not like the UK...
