Long Absence due to Health Scare

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a life threatening medical

condition about 7 months ago. I had to return to the UK for

specialised treatment which took away my ability to travel.

When I have a break in my treatment I am hoping to return to

Malta soon.  My only concern is my length of absence.


I have been resident in Malta before my illness and I have

a Brexit Withdrawal Agreement residence card. Not sure if

I have broken the residency rules with my 7 month absence.

Any advice please.

@BlueOctupus  Just looked on line and saw that you would be ok as you have been ill, this was with AI so it may be worth you checking as well.  It would probably be best if you change to permanent residency we have and you can be out of Malta for upto five years as well as getting the same care treatment as locals. Perhaps look into this when you have returned.
