A real estate company doesn't give back the deposit.

There has been imposed a temporary “Corona-law” which gives the landlord right to extend the refund of deposit, so hopefully it’s not because you are being ignored.

If I understand you correctly, you have waited 6 weeks now for you deposit. However, it's corona and holiday time may be the explation why you haven't received your money back by now.

I have similar question, few years ago I left Denmark and while in Denmark i rented apartment from real estate company, so after moving out they started to ask even more money, more tham my deposit. I didn't send them any because I thought they try to scam me. My question is can i have trouble if i come back to Denmark? Thank you.

If you have left the rental in a proper state, the deposit should cover normal repair, e.g. wear and tear, not actual destruction.

Haven't you received a detailed settlement how the company reached the amount they want you to pay? They have to as you have the right to object to their claims.

I don't know if an unsettled claim, should cause you any troubles if you want to return. I cannot think so.  Maybe, the company has issued a bill to you which is quite unfair, but they have tried to cheat you to pay, and have given up to get the money as it didn't work. Could it be so that they actually owe your money?

In Denmark we have Ribers which is a register where bad payers are listed. It's not a total list over bad payers, as companies have to pay for it, and Ribers mustn't list bad payers as they like, creditor and debtor shall agree on the debt. Further, there are certain for formalities which have to be fullfilled.

We didn't do anything bad, except lost one key and left dust behind the toilet. So I really think they tried to scam me.
