Hi All,


Can anyone recommend a decent estate agent?


The ones I've had contact with are very poor. They don't answer questions properly and just bombard me with properties I didn't even enquire about. I don't know if it's incompetence or deliberate!

What you are seeing is how the Cyprus market works, not just a few rude agents.


Most estate agents here act for the seller and are paid by the vendor, so they shop their own listings rather than search for you. That is why you get vague answers and a flood of properties that ignore your brief. The same flat can sit with several offices at once, each claiming a special line to the owner.


If you want someone whose job is to represent you, look for a buyer-side agent like Cyprus Gate. You pay them, with no developer or vendor stock to push. Ask in writing how they are paid and whether they take seller or developer commissions. If they do, they are not independent of the people selling to you.
