Limassol port

Good morning

Can anyone advise the average length of time a container can sit in limassol before being released to the forwarding agent for delivery

My container arrived in limassol a week ago ive been to customs 3 days ago signed everything all I was good.

Agent says its still there and won't give me any idea of delivery date which I am finding strange

Any suggestions

Probably depends on the backlog they have at the port and in customs. When I had my 40 foot in Dec 2022 it took a week after arrival before PMR were talking about delivery. Temp customs clearance for car and motorcycle was a week. 2 weeks after arrival we had delivery. Still not recvd the full customs clearance on the vehicles lol Paphos customs estimate 12 months after arrival.

Car came a few weeks ago all was fine at customs but still on uk plates until the pink slip arrives in a few months

The container arrived here a week now but stupidly was persuaded from a 20 to a 40 shared .

Was promised no delays or extra handling turns out that doesn't seem the case.

Just can't get a straight answer!

On the car reg front it will be a long wait for final clearance. Until you have the cert from customs confirming perm import and duty vat free it cannot be registered. If it is over 5 years old you presumably have had the authorization from DOT to allow import? Only a formality but does again take many months to obtain.
